Easy & All-Natural Ways To Improve Skin
The appearance of our skin can be affected by many things: lifestyle, stress, lack of sleep, etc. Extreme weather also has a huge impact. During winter our faces can become noticeably dull and dry. Luckily, better looking skin is easy to achieve by whipping up a homemade face mask with some of these all-natural ingredients.
Milk – has many benefits for skin. It softens and refreshes skin while enhancing its natural radiance. Don’t worry, you don’t have to start splashing your face with milk. Powdered milk creates less mess and is easy to use. Combine the powder with water or liquid milk until you reach a paste-like consistency. Spread the mixture on your face and let it sit for a few minutes. Gently wipe the powder off with a warm washcloth, marvel at your baby soft skin, then moisturize as usual.
ACV - Even if you don’t like the smell of vinegar you will love the results you get when it is used on your skin. Mix one part apple cider vinegar with one part warm water. Soak a washcloth in the mixture, wring it out, and lay it over your face, making sure to leave a space to breathe. After several minutes, remove the washcloth and let the vinegar dry on your skin.
Oatmeal & Honey – Oatmeal is great for soothing irritated skin. Even though it is gentle, it makes a great exfoliator when used in face masks. Honey is packed with antioxidants and provides an excellent moisture boost for skin. To whip up your own mask simply place a cup of plain, dry oats in the blender and pulse them until they reach a coarse powder. Add a drizzle of honey and a spoonful of plain yogurt and stir to combine. You can also add one egg white (optional) to the mixture. Spread the mixture on your face, gently rub it around, let it sit for about 15 minutes, then rinse the mask off with warm water.
Bananas – I love bananas, but can’t I stand to eat them once they’ve become all spotted. Although those bananas might be too ripe to eat, they are perfect for making a moisturizing mask for your skin. Just peel a banana, mash it into a mushy paste and spread it evenly over your face. Let it sit for up to 20 minutes, then rinse it off with cool water. This mask always leaves skin softer to the touch.
